Castro Announces $1 Million Award to University of Texas at San Antonio

Washington, D.C.—Congressman Joaquin Castro (TX-20), a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, today released the following statement:

“As we continue to diversify our economy in San Antonio and beyond, we must also strengthen the educational opportunities in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (or STEM) fields that will lead to 21st century jobs. I welcome this grant which will perpetuate opportunities and supportive programming for students pursuing STEM, especially underrepresented female and minority students at UTSA in computer science fields.”
